Position Summary

This position will grade, sort, or classify plastic scrap by size, weight, color, or condition. Transfer material to and from the department. May be required to occasionally operate a forklift.


Essential Functions

    Adheres to WMC's quality management system.Grade and sort plastic scrap parts according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective parts or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in Gaylord containers for further processing. Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Record grade or identification numbers on tags.Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure standard quality specifications and requirements.Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using a forklift or manual methods. Safety Requirements: Understand and follow all WMC Health & Safety Practices. Report all injuries and unsafe work conditions. Attend mandatory safety training and request additional training as needed. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    Production Oriented: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.Cooperation: Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.Integrity: Job requires being honest and ethical.

Education and/or Experience

    Entry-level position.1 Year of experience in a manufacturing environment (Desired). 1 Year of experience operating a forklift (Desired).

Work Environment

    Plant/manufacturing facility. Not completely temperature-controlled.

Physical Demands

    The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms.

Schedule
