B. Blair is currently looking to hire a full-time Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs. This position reports to the Fleet Manager.

Job Responsibilities - What will you do?

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and engine issues on a wide variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers including Peterbilt, Kenworth, Wester Star, Mack and Ford models.

Emission Systems: Service newer trucks with modern emissions systems (EGR, DEF, SCR etc) including troubleshooting and repairs on diesel engines and related components.

Electrical Systems: Diagnose and repair complex electrical issues, including troubleshooting wiring, sensors, engine control modules (ECMs) and other advanced truck electronics.

Engine and Transmission Repairs: Repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, turbochargers and exhaust systems.

Suspension and Brake Systems: Inspect, diagnose and repair suspension systems, braking systems and related components o ensure safety and performance.

Trailer Maintenance: Inspect and repair trailers, including braking and air systems, lighting, tires and axles.

Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure vehicles remain in peak operating condition to minimize downtime.

Snow Season: Be available for extended hours during snow season including nights, weekends and holidays.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance activities to remain compliant with company and regulatory standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with dispatcher, drivers and other mechanics to ensure timely and efficient repairs.

Safety & Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and ensure that all repairs meet industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications - Who are we looking for?

Minimum of 5 years experience as a heavy truck and trailer mechanic with hands on experience working on a variety of older and newer makes and models including Peterbilt, Kenworth, Western Star, Mack and Ford.
Strong experience diagnosing and repairing emissions systems (EGR, DEF, SCR, etc) on modern diesel engines.
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, engines control systems and complex mechanical problems.
Comfortable using advanced diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot modern truck electronics and emissions systems.
Strong problem solving skills.
Willing to work extended hours.
Knowledge of HCSS system and other proprietary software a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Dependable transportation to work daily
Pass drug test prior to employment
Must have own hand tools, including larger sizes
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Formal diesel mechanic training or related field is preferred. xibtplm Certifications (ex ASE) are a plus.
Valid Driver's License, CDL A is a plus

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
