Job Description: Job Description Senior Product Engineer - Agricultural Equipment Fair Manufacturing Inc. Yankton, SD Full-time $70,000-$95,000 Fair Manufacturing Inc., a third-generation family-owned manufacturer of agricultural and industrial equipment, is hiring a Senior Product Engineer to lead product design and development for our equipment line. For over 60 years we've served farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals across the region, and this role will play a key part in shaping what we build next. What you'll do You'll own products from concept through completion - developing specifications, schematics, and prototypes, writing manufacturing instructions and user documentation, and maintaining project records throughout the product life cycle. You'll run engineering analyses to test feasibility, performance, and reliability, and validate designs through hands-on testing. This role also includes field testing and troubleshooting, so you should be comfortable getting out of the office and into the field when needed (travel is about 5% of the time). What we're looking for A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and around 5 years of engineering experience, ideally in agricultural or heavy equipment manufacturing. Strong SolidWorks skills are required. You should have a real working knowledge of agricultural equipment and machinery - features, specs, and how it's actually used in the field - along with the ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver quality work on schedule. We're looking for someone self-motivated who works well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with additional hours as needed.
