As a Class A Diesel Technician, no two days are the same. One day you might be diagnosing an engine performance issue on a semi, the next repairing a combine during harvest, troubleshooting complex hydraulic or electrical systems on farm equipment, fabricating a custom solution, or servicing pickups, trailers, and other vehicles essential to our operation. This is a hands-on position that requires an experienced technician who enjoys tackling a wide variety of mechanical challenges and takes pride in finding the right solution.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, self-motivated technician with the ability to independently diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and other mechanical systems. Strong welding and fabrication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential. Hours are typically 7am - 4:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
_ Requirements (Qualifications) _
Valid driver's license required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience required; experience with agricultural equipment and farm implements preferred.
Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Candidates are expected to provide their own basic mechanic hand tools.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to appropriately triage and prioritize preventative maintenance and repair requests in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work independently while maintaining close communication and coordination with the Shop Director.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and adapt to changing operational priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
