Senior Human Resources Generalist

The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports and facilitates Human Resource processes across the ICC Family of Solutions while serving as a trusted resource for employees, supervisors, and leaders. This position provides advanced HR support across employee relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, employee experience, HRIS administration, and process improvement. The role also assists with research, development, and implementation of effective strategies to improve efficiencies, strengthen consistency, and support change management across the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Performs advanced Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee life cycle, compliance, benefits, compensation, employee relations, employee experience, training, performance management, retention, and immigration.
- Manages HR department email account and ensures all employee inquiries are answered in a timely manner.
- Ensures ICC HR policies are compliant with current federal, state, and local employment laws and makes updates to support future law change compliance.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, providing guidance on routine and moderately complex matters and escalating highly complex and/or sensitive issues to the HR Director.
- Supports HR managers with employee relations issues, including gathering information, preparing documentation, recommending next steps, and helping ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices.
- Supports the Benefits Manager with Open Enrollment, Leaves of Absence, and ADA accommodation processes, including employee communication, documentation, tracking, and follow-up as needed.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Maintains strong knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies, and recommends programs, tools, or process improvements to better support employees and leaders.
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits, employee data, or other HR programs; analyzes results; and recommends corrective action or process improvements as needed.
- Owns employee onboarding process from first day orientation, including creation of training schedule, hosting introductory HR meetings, assignment of training, and auditing new hire documents for accuracy in HRIS system.
- Manages new hire and exit interview surveys; analyzes themes and trends; and recommends improvement opportunities for discussion with the HR team.
- Uploads, audits, and approves employee updates in HRIS, as needed.
- Creates, reviews, and maintains HR departmental SOP documents to ensure consistency, standardization, and process alignment across all entities.
- Reviews all mandatory training for accuracy and assigns required training to employees, as needed.
- Partners with the HR team and business leaders to support departmental project initiatives, process improvements, and organizational priorities.
- Drafts HR-related communication, including content for monthly Company newsletter.
- Develops, conducts, and evaluates HR related training for leadership and employees to support consistent understanding and application of HR policies, processes, and expectations.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files utilizing HRIS.
Secondary Functions:
- Completes employment-related external verification requests, as needed.
- Collects employee acknowledgment forms for newly developed company policies.
- Supports Recruitment efforts as needed
- Manages Outplacement account for terminated employee transition.
- Files annual EEO-1 Report for all ICC entities, as required.
- Manages the ICC Employee Scholarship Committee to ensure selections are based on established criteria and applied consistently.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
- Supports additional HR departmental projects and administrative needs as assigned.
Essential Skills and Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- At least 7 years of progression Human Resources experience
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Strong working knowledge of human resource principles, practices, procedures, and employment lifecycle processes.
- Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations with the ability to help identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Hands on HRIS Experience required, preferably in Paylocity
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Paylocity or similar HRIS, and compensation management tools.
